Christina Lao

Over 20 years of experience in the field of Sales and Marketing having worked across various fields such as the Hospitality Industry, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Consumer Health and the Foodservice Industry.

Kring currently leads the Digital Acceleration Team of McDonald’s Philippines. She is in charge of leading the company’s digital transformation through formulation and execution of bold, tightly integrated digital strategies with a special focus on creating new value through the smart use of digital tools, platforms, technologies, services, processes and data.

She previously led the Marketing Team of McDonald’s Philippines overseeing Menu Innovation, Brand Communications, Digital Marketing, Family Marketing, Local Store Marketing and Customer Care.

Under her leadership, McDonald’s Philippines received the Hall of Fame Award from the Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA) for winning the Grand PANAta Award, its highest accolade, for three consecutive years. She also led McDonald’s Philippines in receiving the Brand Builder of the Year for the McDelivery Pin campaign during the 2018 PANAta Awards, Ad of the Year during the inaugural 2018 YouTube Ad Awards for “Wait Lang Po”, and the highly coveted Advertiser of the Year Award during the 2018 and 2019 Philippine Boomerang Awards.

She is one of the featured marketers in the 2019 bestselling book, The Mavericks by Josiah Go where she shared her insights on McDonald’s Philippines’ campaign development process, zooming in on the importance of the Big Idea.

She has participated as one of the creative juries for Campaigns Asia Agency of the Year, APAC Effie Awards, UA&P Tambuli Awards and PANAta Awards to name a few.

She was one of the recipients of the 5th Young Market Masters Award for Brand Management in 2010.

She was a professor at the Worldwide Marketing Hamburger University in Munich, Germany in 2018 and Bangkok, Thailand in 2017.

She is currently a board member of the Internet & Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) and serves as the Treasurer of the Ad Standard Council (ASC).

She took her Masters in Business Administration from De La Salle Graduate School of Business and graduated with Highest Distinction. Graduated from the University of the Philippines with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration Magna Cum Laude.

She enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Garry and 2 Gen Z Digital Native daughters, Gabrielle and Jessica.
